Walsh has previously worked as structural engineers on the Phase 1 and 2 areas of the Woolwich Central development project, located off Grand Depot Road, and worked to provide a ground investigation for Meyer Homes on the Phase 3 and 4 areas.
Phase 3 will comprise the construction of a 14-storey (plus roof level) residential building. Phase 4 will comprise the construction of three new residential buildings between 13 and 15 storeys (plus roof level) high, split into eight blocks.
Walsh’s in-house Geotechnical team provided an initial desk study of available information and a detailed site investigation scope including boreholes, window samples, trial pitting, groundwater and gas monitoring. Walsh acted as investigation supervisor for the Phase 2 site investigation, engaging site investigation contractors working on the project and visiting site to confirm compliance to the scope of works.
These findings were then used to establish a detailed ground model, informing contamination, waste and geotechnical recommendations for each phase.
